Bengt Erlend Skjerdal ( 32 ) has recently been appointed as project manager for the Park's 3-year investment in " Transformation and value creation ". 

The 2016 Park Meeting was held on May 3rd at Fretheim Hotell in Flåm. As before, the meeting was divided into two parts, with the first part being open to partners, while the second part was a follow-up seminar for the dialogue conferences held in 2015. 

Nærøyfjorden Verdsarvpark har no for snarleg tilsetjing, Ledig stilling som prosjektleiar. 

Nærøyfjorden Verdsarvpark søkjer etter ein person med allsidig kompetanse og god røynsle frå 
organisering og gjennomføring av større kulturarrangement og - festivalar. I tillegg vil stillinga få ansvar for Parken sitt samla interne og eksterne informasjons- og kommunikasjonsarbeid.

NRK Brennpunkt has made a documentary that deals with the farmer of the future and whether there is an alternative to today's agricultural policy. 

Takk til alle deim som tok seg litt tid til å reflektera over det "Å leva med verdsarven"!  Fristen for innsending av bidrag var 31. januar,. Me fekk inn om lag 100 bilete frå 35 innsendarar og 2 filmar. 

Me er no i prosessen med å sortera bileta, og me ser allereie no at oppgåva har vorte løyst på mange, utruleg, flotte måtar. 

Så snart me har fått kåra ein vinnar  kjem me med informasjon og ikkje minst vil me syna fram dei bileta som vert premierte. 

We would like to welcome Østerbø Fjellstove as a new partner in the park!

Østerbø Fjellstove is located 820 meters above sea level, right next to Aurdalsvatnet in Aurlandsdalen, and is an excellent starting point for short and longer hikes in the beautiful Aurlandsdalen. The mountain hut also has roots dating back to the 17th century, with buildings and traces of log buildings from the 1740s.

Føremålet med det nasjonale «Turskiltprosjektet» er å medverke til at friluftsferdselen der folk bur og oppheld seg, vert auka og tryggja.

Det vil vi gjere gjennom informasjon, skilting og merking. Dette inneber at fylkeskommunen saman med Gjensidigestiftelsen har sett av tilskotsmidlar til merking og gradering av turløyper i Sogn og Fjordane. Det er, for Sogn og Fjordane sin del, ei vidareføring av Vestlandsprosjektet for merking og gradering av turløyper, som starta opp i 2011.

Nærøyfjorden Verdsarvpark forvaltar Aurland Naturfond som vart etablert i samband med avviklinga av Aurland Naturverkstad BA.

Fondet har til føremål å gje personar i Aurland høve til erfarings –og kompetanseutvikling innan naturbruk og tilrettelegging for landskapsoppleving, småskala foredling og produktutvikling, natur- og landskapsformidling. Fondet skal i utgangspunktet fordelast gjennom årlege søknadar/ ubetalingar over ein periode på 20 år; noko som pt. tilsvarar om lag kr. 26 500,- pr. år.

In 2015, the fund board received 6 applications, of which 3 applicants were approved for funds.

Onsdag 13. januar vart årets fyrste styremøte for Nærøyfjorden Verdsarvpark arrangert på Flåmsbrygga i Aurland kommune.

In addition to the election of a new chairman, there were also a number of new faces who attended the meeting for the first time from both the world heritage municipalities and the county council following the elections in autumn 2015. 

The deadline for applying for funding for UNESCO purposes from the Norwegian UNESCO Commission is 1 February 2016.

These can apply: Voluntary organisations, institutions within research or education, other non-commercial actors. Applicants must also be registered in the Brønnøysund register. 

You can apply for funding for work that promotes UNESCO-related issues.

Sogn og Fjordane County Council has just pledged NOK 121,000 to the World Heritage Park and planned measures related to the improvement and renovation of the Brekkestien Trail in Flåm. The World Heritage Park has thus raised a total of NOK 521,000 for this collaborative project between the landowners, the Park, Aurland municipality and protected area management.  

The planned project aims to improve the path from Grindahølen to Brekkefossen, a much-used hiking destination for both visitors and residents of the area.

Start-up is expected to take place in spring 2016.

New leader and deputy leader of the World Heritage Council for the West Norwegian fjord landscape.

The World Heritage Council for the West Norwegian Fjord Landscape has, as it were, the primary task of working to safeguard and promote the world heritage status awarded to the Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord areas jointly.

Mayor of Voss municipality, Hans Erik Ringkjøb, was elected on 1 December 2015 as the new leader of the World Heritage Council for the West Norwegian Fjord Landscape for the period 2016 - 2017. Mayor of Stranda municipality, Jan Ove Tryggestad, was elected deputy leader at the same time.

The main secretariat follows the leader and will be hosted by the foundation Nærøyfjorden World Heritage Park for the next two years.
