Partnership

The World Heritage Park is made up of partners from the local population, agriculture, business, voluntary organizations and administration in the area. The partnership is based on a partnership agreement and involves a binding collaboration to promote the world heritage values in the Nærøyfjord area through sustainable development. Participation in the partnership is voluntary for local businesses and organizations. The partnership can lay the foundation for new value creation and development of the landscape and cultural heritage resources in the area.

Through partnerships, the actors benefit from the World Heritage Park's expertise, network and brand and can qualify for significant public funds. The agreement also includes a commitment to work to safeguard the world heritage values through sustainable development.

Partner Handbook

In the spring of 2014, the World Heritage Park developed a partnership handbook, which was also adopted by the board in the summer of 2014. As part of the Partnership Agreement, it is now expected that partners of the park will agree to the "partner handbook". The handbook has been developed as a tool in the further development of a common identity for Nærøyfjorden World Heritage Park. It tells about the background, visions, goals and identity associated with Nærøyfjorden World Heritage Park. This is from the first part of the handbook and in addition to this, this part also considers what role the World Heritage Park should have in the local community, and who the partners are, and what a partnership entails.

The second part of the partner manual will guide partners in the correct use of the profile developed for the World Heritage Park. This applies both to partners as ambassadors for the park and the area, for promoting their own business, and for promoting partnerships with the World Heritage Park.

It is written in the handbook that;

"Visualization of the partnership and utilization of the park profile should therefore result in added value for the partner. The park logo and the partnership logo should visualize the partner's role as a value creator in the World Heritage area, and at the same time be a seal of quality for precisely this value creation in accordance with the partnership agreement and the values that underlie Nærøyfjorden World Heritage Park.
