Lecture about fishing facilities at Aurlandsfjellet 26.01 at 6 pm

Are you curious about the discovery of the 1,500-year-old trapping facility on Aurlandsfjellet? Join the lecture!

Chief archaeologist Leif Inge Åstveit from the University of Bergen will be attending Aurland Monday, January 26th at 6:00 PM to give a lecture about a completely unique archaeological find on Aurlandsfjellet.

A 1500-year-old reindeer trapping facility , built of wood, has melted out of the ice at 1400 m above sea level. The find is probably unique in both a Norwegian and European context, and provides new insight into reindeer trapping and society in the Early Iron Age.
