Application course with Sparebankstiftinga
Sparebankstiftinga Sogn og Fjordane distributes gifts from the surplus from Sparebanken Sogn og Fjordane, and all types of non-profit initiatives can be awarded gifts.
Our application deadlines for ordinary gifts are 1 March and 1 September each year.
Ahead of the application deadline of 1 March 2024, the Sparebankstiftinga invites you to a course in application writing.
The course is adapted to teams and organizations that will apply for funds for their business, and looks at how an application for funds should look; whether one intends to apply for donations from the Sparebankstiftinga or other grant schemes.
In addition, there will be an opportunity to meet the foundation's administration during the day on the course day/city, if you want advice and input related to gift applications. Below you will find information about the course and how to arrange a meeting time.

Tool evening and sharpening course
Are you interested in old tools and travel accessories?
Høgdegarden Hovland Gard at Vangsnes held an open tool evening in October in collaboration with the Sogn local association of the Historical Monuments Association and Nærøyfjorden World Heritage Park.
This evening there will be an opportunity to study and discuss old tools and travel items from the farm. Do you have something lying around at home that you would like to show off or that you wonder what it is? Feel free to bring it here.
Eirik Tistel from Tistel Gard in Vik will join us this evening and give an introduction to sharpening with both a whetstone and a whetstone. If you have old tools that need sharpening, you can bring them along.

Course in sharpening garden furniture

Do you want to learn about old garden furniture and how to sharpen them?
In connection with Økoveka - 23, I organize an introductory course in sharpening old tools at Framigarden in Flåmsdalen, with Terje Hilstad as facilitator. On the course, there will be some theory and history, a review of old farm tours, a demonstration of grinding on a whetstone.
You get the chance to try sharpening yourself. Feel free to bring your own tools that need sharpening, such as scythe blades, axes, chisels, etc. another.
Simple serving.
The course is free.

Course in the construction of a nature playground
On the course, you will learn how to create nature playgrounds on nature and children's premises, and how this can be done with simple and affordable aids.
You learn about different types of wooden swings and carousels, ziplines, climbing walls, cabins etc. The Friluftsakademiet has all the equipment needed for construction.
The course is based on the books "Lag ein natureleikeplass" and "Change with nature - in kindergarten and school", which are based on the Norwegian standard for playground equipment.
Course instructor Tor Egil Bagøien from the Friluftsakademiet has had many courses across the country with a focus on nature and the construction of nature playgrounds. He also has extensive experience from teaching in kindergarten and teacher training.

Free course in window restoration
On the course you will learn practical maintenance and repair of old windows: Dismantling, removal of old putty, restoration of hinges and fittings, cutting of glass, surface treatment, reconstruction. You also get an insight into the restoration of wood.
The course object is the window in the old schoolhouse in Borgund, (vis a vis Nærbutikken). The house will be restored through courses and opened as a wooden bakery next year. It is nice if the course participants bring their own travel bags, if one has them. A list of current travel pairs will be sent out before the course.
There will be a social evening at the pub in Borgund on Saturday evening, for those who want to join in.
NB: The course is free, as there is no opportunity to bring your own window for restoration on this course, and includes food and drink during the course days. Possibly participants must pay for accommodation themselves.
Instructor: Anders Slinning, 28 years old, lives in Sogndalsdalen. He has a background from Ornes Båtbyggeri and has set up his own carpentry company which is co-located with Solvorn Laft og Bygg. He has experience with restoration of old windows, eg from Stedje church in Sogndal and the Munthe house in Luster.
