Geology days in the World Heritage Park

Over the past few weeks, eleven geology days have been held for schools and kindergartens in the World Heritage municipalities.

Locations that have been used as learning arenas include Feios and Fresvikdalen, Borlo village garden, Hove stone church, Nærøydalen, Lærdalsøyri, Flåmsdalen and Aurlandsvangen.

The theme in the kindergartens has been "Stone as a resource", where the children have learned about different types of rocks, what stones can be used for, and transformed stones into beautiful works of art. At the schools, the theme "Landscape formation" has been in focus, where the students have learned about glaciers, fjords, how rivers work and what are the characteristics of a valley.

The park thanks the participants for many great days of learning!
