Join the GREEN FJORD CONFERENCE 2018! This year's conference has been titled: "The World Heritage Fjords - Norway's future, GREEN LIGHTHOUSES?" On February 8-9, 2018, the Geirangerfjorden World Heritage Foundation will be organizing the third GREEN FJORD CONFERENCE. This time, the conference will have a fantastic start with a boat trip from Ålesund into the Geirangerfjord. "Vision of the Fjords" - a hybrid boat built by the Brødrene Aa shipyard in Sogn og Fjordane - has won several national and international awards for innovation and design. Among other things, the boat from the shipping company The Fjords was named "Ship of the Year" at the world's largest shipping fair in Hamburg in 2016. Never before has a passenger boat of such size sailed into the Geirangerfjord in such an environmentally friendly way - electric (hybrid), silent, historic and almost traceless! You don't want to miss this pilot trip!
The conference has been an important meeting place for inspiration and knowledge building around green solutions, research and sustainable development since its first year. Current topics are on the agenda and we ask ourselves: "Can we turn blue smoke, exhaust fumes, traffic chaos and emigration into green, clean and idyllic fjord communities in growth? Do we have good enough tools to achieve the vision of "traceless traffic"? Is the business community ready for the green transition?"
