World heritage clean-up day 2023

  • Nærøyfjorden World Heritage Park Heradshuset Aurlandsvangen, Vestland, Norway (map)

It is spring, and I enjoy sunny days and the warmth of the earth. At the same time, we see traces in nature of us humans that we do not want there. That's why I'm gathering good energy for a proper cleaning day in our area!

Tuesday, May 2nd, will be hosting Nærøyfjorden World Heritage Park Cleanup Day along our two World Heritage fjords, Aurlandsfjorden and Nærøyfjorden Thursday, May 4th, it will be in Fresvik and the Feiosingane will make their contribution on April 21st.

The Park does this in collaboration with the protected area manager, SNO, Aurland municipality, business and schools in Aurland , Fresvik, Feios and Flåm.

We hope that a broadly composed volunteer team will increase knowledge among many user groups and that the ripple effects can be positive with the result that we get less litter along the beaches. The school pupils will pick up rubbish over a large area on this day - we ask that they welcome them!

The wonderful nature we live in needs help - so if you have the time and desire, you are most welcome to make an effort in your neighbourhood. Get your boss and colleagues with you and clean up the area around your workplace, and take rubbish with you along the route you like to walk!
