Dialogue Conference: Fjord Tourism

Nærøyfjorden In October 2015, the World Heritage Park project Levande Fjord invited to an open dialogue conference on the theme of Fjord Tourism. 

 

UNESCO his/her The intention of the World Heritage List is to use the increased attraction that the status brings to develop industries that contribute to strengthening the World Heritage qualities and the management of these.
As a nation, region and local community, we have taken on a responsibility to manage the World Heritage Site of the Western Norwegian Fjord Landscape within this framework.

 

Actors who, in their activities, take comprehensive responsibility for the fjord environment should, in an appropriate way, have an advantage in terms of associating themselves with the World Heritage status.

This first dialogue conference will focus on cruises. Later conferences will address other forms of fjord tourism.

 

Purpose : to create an arena for dialogue between different parties who want to interact to understand the current situation and uncover challenges and find future-proof solutions for a sustainable fjord.
