Otternes Bygdetun

WELCOME TO OTTERNES

Otternes is one of the best preserved and largest cluster farms in Western Norway, and it is the integrity of the cluster farm that is unique.

The building complex has a very high degree of authenticity in both the farm structure, the buildings' exteriors, interiors and loose objects. The cluster farm has 27 buildings, including dwelling houses, barns, kitchens and storehouses.

Traces of settlement have been found from around 300 AD. Burial mounds on the other side of the fjord indicate settlement as early as pre-Christian times.

You are welcome to wander around the yard and look around, but please follow these rules;

Smoking and open flames are prohibited.
