The «Sogna-VERT» or Sogn Hosting Course as it translates as was organised for the first time in 2014, and was the result of collaboration between the Nærøyfjord World Heritage Park (Norwegian and English), Visit Sognefjord (Norwegian, English and German), the Resource Centre of the Sogn School of Organic Agriculture and Horticulture (SJH, Norwegian only) and the value creation programme Between Mountain, Fjord and Folk in Luster (Norwegian only). Today the courses are created through the Resource Centre at SJH, in collaboration with the Nærøyfjord World Heritage Park and Visit Sognefjord.

The courses are directed towards employees within the tourism industry, but it is also suitable for those who work in shops, in an advisory capacity within the municipalities and others that live within the Sogn region.
The courses focus on how to create a culture where hosting skills take prominence and how to lift Sogn as a travel destination on the whole. In depth knowledge about the area in which we have our home, live our lives and work is incredibly important, which is why the Sogn Hosts also focus on local knowledge within local food, culture, nature and history. An important part has also been that the participants and lecturers are served local foods.
