The Nærøyfjord World Heritage Park are the administers of Aurland Nature Fund, which was established after the restructuring of Aurland Naturverkstad (translates as nature workshop) from a cooperative company to a corporation, where the cooperative was liquidated. The funds of the cooperative company were added to Aurland Nature Fund.

The purpose of the fund is to give people in Aurland the opportunity to gain experience and education within land management, small scale production and product development, nature and landscape dissemination. The basic idea of the fund is that it is to be distributed through yearly applications/payments over a period of 20 years, which equates to approximately 26 500NOK a year.
