A taste of the World Heritage Park

The Nærøyfjord World Heritage Park has a large number of manufacturers, distributors and dining establishments that offer the chance to taste and purchase local food. Visiting a place where you can see, experience and taste the local produce is an excellent way of experiencing local traditions and specialities. Some of the produce is also available at the farmer’s marked Bondens marknad (Norwegian only) and other distributors.

Visit the Festivals and Markets part of the website for other local pop-up places where local foods can be purchased.

You can taste the local produce in the Nærøyfjord World Heritage Park, both directly and to order.

Brimost (Brown Goat’s Cheese) from Sogn is a Slow Food Presidium.

Other local specialities include Smalahove (Sheep’s head, the website is only available in Norwegian) and Gamalost (translates as old cheese) from Vik (text only available in Norwegian).
